Dr honea art program

For patients joining us from ART, you will no longer have to pay for parking, circle a parking deck, or navigate a hospital map! The Huntsville and Montgomery satellite offices will become offices of Alabama Fertility and they will remain in their current locations.

Alabama Fertility and ART physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and administrative staff are joining together under one practice. No, we do not. Our central focus is our patients and their families, ensuring they receive the highest quality fertility care Alabama has to offer.

The more quality care we can offer, the more families we can help build. When I was 39, I married a wonderful man who had never had children.

He had always wanted to have a child of his own. In my heart I knew we wanted a child together but because of my age, I was not sure whether we would be able to make our dreams a reality.

Success Story: Wilborn Family. Success Story: Schofill Family. Success Story: Lovett Family. Success Story: McCoy Family. Walking the Path with My Patients. I was prescribed Gonal-F, Menopur, and Cetrotide for days. The Centrotide was added after my first scan after my baseline, around Day 3 or 5 perhaps.

It caused a small reaction at the injection site that lasted for about 30 minutes, not painful. The Progesterone in Oil started causing hard knots in my muscle and itching on the skin after a couple of days. The nurse suggested warming the medicine a little before injecting. It helped a little. I met a new nurse with every visit. They seemed to smile and nod and go about their day to day routine. I had one nurse call me and tell me that my schedule was wrong and I was going to have to wait.

After I got upset someone called and apologized for her miscommunication. There was one or two nurses that I spoke to several times and actually learned their names. They were great. Hailey and Lauren. Everyone else is a blur. They seem to be a popular clinic. Coffee was available in the waiting room even though majority of us had been told not to drink caffeine. I always found that ironic. The wait time was never more than 30 minutes. They were very quick to get you in and seen.

They have a large staff so there was never a friendly face to greet you at the door. I never felt like I knew what was going on even after asking the same questions every time. Other labs and monitoring fees cost a few thousand. I only had 1 embryo available for transfer.

Out of the 6 eggs retrieved, 5 matured, 4 fertilized. Besides only having 1 available embryo, nothing was ever mentioned about an eSET. Communication is not important to this clinic. They left out mainly things that dealt with my husband. His infectious disease screening and his results from when they retrieved sperm. Honea is warm, smart and leaves no stone unturned to help families achieve their dreams of a family.

She personally called me numerous times when there were setbacks to discuss changes in my treatment plan My biggest hurdle was getting my uterine lining thick enough in order to transfer my frozen embryos. So for six months we tried different dosage of medicines and shots to achieve this. While it was a difficult process Dr. Honea assured me we would get there it would just take time to find out what dosage of medicine my body needed in order to produce a thick lining.

And of course, a thick lining is essential to have for successful embryo transfer. The only drawback I can think of is the Huntsville office only offers a satellite office meaning the doctors are only on site by appointment a few times a month.

So, if you want an appointment you will have to drive to Birmingham to see them. But weekly appointments can all be done in Huntsville. This is why I initially chose a different clinic and boy did I make the wrong choice. The drive I made a few times was a small price to pay for the care I received.

She personally called me numerous times when there were setbacks to discuss changes in my treatment plan. She will help you achieve the family you so desperately desire, but she will explain it takes time and patience to do things right. I spent 12 months at the wrong clinic and after my first appointment with Dr. Honea and her nurses I knew I was at the right place.

They were thorough, caring, honest and compassionate. Assigned nurse: Nancy. They were so wonderful and always made me feel comfortable and involved in the process every step of the way. In my case with my advanced age and the number of years we had been trying Dr.

We fully trusted her. Age 30 - Honea is obviously passionate about her patients and genuinely wants to help them reach their goal of parenthood. She spent more than our allotted time with us and listened to all of our concerns and responded to each one. I trust her decision making and plan for us. Regardless of the outcome of our journey I will forever be greatful we landed in her office Honea has an actual conversation with my husband and I instead of just talking at us in medical terms.

She made us feel like people who were important to her and she took the time to listen to our concerns. We went to her as a second opinion after several failed cycles with a previous doctor and she was willing to try new things and tests that had either been dismissed previously or never mentioned. Can't say enough positive things about Dr. Everyone we have encountered at both Birmingham and Huntsville have been nothing short of amazing.

They will walk you through the entire process and are always willing to answer any question you may have. Communication is excellent. So far I have no weaknesses to speak of, only praises Regardless of the outcome of our journey I will forever be greatful we landed in her office. Don't feel scared to ask questions. Also, I promise you will leave with a plan and a peace about the direction she is taking you.

We have only completed one cycle but we did 5 days of Letrazole cd then 3 planned days of Gonal-F and had to add a day due to slightly less than acceptable response. Cd 11 monitor with preganyl trigger cd Post coital test cd 13 with IUI the next day. Progesterone suppositories day 15 i think till negative beta cd The above plan was put in place based on 3 previously failed IUI with just Letrazole to achieve a better response.

In those 3 I had only ever had 1 lead follicle that never was larger than 18mm 2 days before IUI. In this one cycle we had 1 over 20, 1 at 18, and 1 at 17 at time of trigger with ultrasound and blood work confirmed ovulation. Assigned nurse: Nancy Scott. Nancy is absolutely amazing. She is serious when she needs to be but lighthearted when the time calls for that as well. She is passionate about her patients. Explains everything in great detail and makes sure you understand the protocol.

Mary and Terri are awesome as well and make the entire experience as undaunting as possible. We had our first visit in the Birmingham office so I'm not sure what initial visits in the satellite offices are like but here is what I will say.

You will be in the office for at least 3 hours between the consult with your physician and all the necessary testing. So far I have no weaknesses to speak of, only praises.

Honea] seemed to take interest in us personally and understood that with my medical background, I had more in depth questions She will answer anything you need her to I was diagnosed as unexplained infertility so IVF was our best option There are specific nurses assigned to IVF patients.

They are familiar with the process and any questions It's busy. Also, parking is a hassle. It was nice that there are satellite clinics closer to me so that I didn't have to schedule an entire day around travel They are familiar with the process and any questions.

It helps that when I did have questions, they were confident with their answers, which eased my fears Honea] seemed to take interest in us personally. She was very candid about the uncommoness of our success. She seemed to take interest in us personally and understood that with my medical background, I had more in depth questions and had a better understanding of what and why things were happening. She took personal interest in me. She understood with my pharmacy background that I understood the science behind every decision made and the process.

As a Christian, she even prayed with us during both transfers! I was on clomid for eight months before seeing her.

We did one last challenge then began a stimulation cycle for IVF. I had several mature follicles with clomid, so my risk of multiples was very high though my chance of pregnancy was not improving. I was diagnosed as unexplained infertility so IVF was our best option. It helps that when I did have questions, they were confident with their answers, which eased my fears. Be aware you might be there for awhile.

It was nice that there are satellite clinics closer to me so that I didn't have to schedule an entire day around travel. Based on my age, number of embryos, and other criteria, I was a candidate for single blastocyst transfer. Dr Honea suggested this as she is a strong proponent of decreasing multiples risk. Honea has been wonderful for us. Warm bedside manner, knowledgeable, and so very kind.

She took the time to really get to know us and spent time praying with us multiple times during our treatments Honea helped us through some of our most difficult decision and days. I always felt she listened to us. When our IVF cycle was unsuccessful, she was heartbroken with and for us. She had guided us through so much and we are forever grateful. I enjoy chatting with them during visits and feel like I receive the best possible care I like the patient message center as a way to share information because it is hard for me to answer during regular business hours.

The nurses and doctors all work very well together to meet your needs. The on-site lab has early hours and is extremely convenient! She took the time to really get to know us and spent time praying with us multiple times during our treatments. We tried many different combinations and amounts of medications throughout our treatments trying to achieve results.

During times when we were deciding about more expensive treatments we tried IUIs because those are covered by my insurance. I enjoy chatting with them during visits and feel like I receive the best possible care. Treatment payment is due at the beginning of a cycle. My insurance covers some things, so office visit fees for me were based on copays for visits and labs.

Unfortunately we only had one embryo to transfer, so we did not have experience with the different approaches. She continues to make our treatment specialized based on our needs. She answers all of our questions honestly and shoots it straight. She gave us a list of routes. Medications alone being the first then adding the IUI in. She did is this way to be the safest and most reasonable to begin with.

From everyone [ART Fertility Program of Alabama] At the main desk being super friendly, to the lab techs being talkative , the nursing staff really caring and getting to know you, we well as the Drs always wanting to treat you and not the number.

Each nurse that I delt with has been through fertility as well so they understood what I was going through. Through every negative test they were there for a shoulder to cry on and encouraging words. Do was treated like a human for sure. She is very personable and gets to know us on a personal level!

She did not suggest we jump straight into IVF and risk getting pregnant with twins and having a higher risk for a miscarriage. The clinic is a very welcoming place.

From everyone At the main desk being super friendly, to the lab techs being talkative , the nursing staff really caring and getting to know you, we well as the Drs always wanting to treat you and not the number. For lab work it was usually depending on my insurance. She quickly got us in treatments and going towards the baby goal! She prescribed me a thyroid medicine to get that straightened out.

She prescribed my husband a motility support medicine for his sperm count. They are very effective at getting you going towards your goals! The clinic staff keep you involved in every step of treatment and stay in contact throughout your cycle. The staff and doctor are very personal and they treat you like they know you and care about your fertility. They are always friendly and compassionate towards me and my husband! They feel like family! I fell in love with the clinic as soon as I was greeted by the staff!

Age 25 - When providing us with bad news there was no sugar coating it was bluntly given to us which is what we asked of her. Thank you, Dr. Number not by the doctor but by staff. The staff is friendly and the nurses know what they are doing.

Age 27 - Honea is very nice and explains why things are happening She takes care of any doubts you might have. When she looked through my file she noticed some discrepancies from my previous doctor and decided to do her own investigation to find out what my real diagnosis is. She gave my husband and me a better chance than previous doctors Nancy does all of my ultrasounds in the Huntsville office. She is very kind and provides you with a very comforting feeling.

At the Huntsville clinic [ART Fertility Program of Alabama], you will have the same nurse and staff each time which I love mainly because I never have to wonder who someone is. It is a small clinic but you never wait more than a few minutes
